Legacy Vessels

Each of these personalized art pieces tells a unique story of a Minnesota resident.

The Project

A unique opportunity afforded 6 individuals from Minnesota the chance to have a one-on-one experience with an artist and his artwork. These people met with Blayze Buseth and shared their stories for an opportunity to create an art piece that archives aspects of their lives in clay to permanently honor their unique lives.

6 Individuals were chosen to create their own Legacy Vessels.

Meetings with the participants, some lifelong residents now community elders and other participants were family members. We discussed what was Important to them, Life changing moments and ideas that Inspire them.

Blayze Buseth is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
